June 7 The MOMS Club of Hopkinton is proud to present "Time of a Change" a Toilet Teaching Workshop for parents with Hetti Wohlegmuth, M.Ed. of WarmLines Parent Resources.  Tickets are $10 in Advance or $15 at the Door.  This workshop will be held from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the Golden Pond Assisted Living Center at 50 West Main Street Hopkinton.  If you've been wondering how to enable your child to leave diapers behind, join us for this popular workshop.  Review various methods and philosophies.  Discuss individual situations, signs of readiness, and common pitfalls.  Refreshments will be available starting at 7:00 pm and the Golden Goose facilities will be open for touring.  The workshop will begin promptly at 7:30 pm.  This workshop is open to the public.  Admission is being charged to defray the cost of the speaker.  Please RSVP to Niki Battikha at events@momsclubhopkinton.org or 508-435-1256.

Leadership MetroWest is a non-profit community leadership development organization. With over 400 alumni since 1986, our mission is to create and maintain a network of leaders to address the complex issues in MetroWest.

Our principle program, The Leadership Academy, is designed for established and emerging leaders from business, education, nonprofit, government and grassroots sectors of our communities, to empower them with the knowledge, skills and vision necessary to actively participate in civic life in the MetroWest region. June 16 3rd Annual CAA Talent Showcase 7:30 pm @ Hopkinton High School.  Do you sing dance or play an instrument? Do you have a hidden talent? Are you a member of a great musical group, dance group, or acting group? Do you tell jokes, juggle, or do magic tricks? The CAA Talent Showcase needs you!!!  Audition Times - Friday May 19th from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm and Saturday May 20th from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Hopkinton High School.  Audition Fee is $10/individual and $20/group.  Must be ages 8 and up to perform in the show.  Call the CAA at 508-435-9222 for more info and to register.

June 16 Pond Adventure 2:00-3:30 pm, Meet at the Dogwood Drive Picnic Area. What is a macro-invertebrate?  Why is it important to you?  On Friday June 16th, this program will introduce you to the sights and sounds of the amazing world of frogs, toads, salamanders, and those funny things which are called invertebrates.  This fun hour will be filled with games, pond exploration and a story about silly looking creatures living just below the pond’s surface.  Great for ages 5 and up, but all ages welcome. All programs are free and open to the public with park admission.  An adult must accompany children.  Reasonable accommodations available upon request. June 17 The congregation of First Congregational Church has done spring clean-up and donated many treasures for a HUGE garage sale on Saturday, June 17. Additionally, there is a pancake breakfast, car wash, plant sale and bake sale. We begin at 7 am and go until 2 pm. All proceeds go to help our teens go to Costa Rica this summer. They will be working on a building project and a food pantry project. See you Saturday!

June 19 Art In the Park 2:00-3:00 pm, Meet at the main beach area. Explore nature through art! The outdoors provides many resources to be creative.  Learn to express your artistic side using local natural discoveries. Various activities will be held throughout the summer such as pet rocks, nature collages, mud painting and flower pressing.  These fun hours will be filled with games, activities and a story about cool things that live in the Hopkinton woods.  Come prepared on Monday June 19th to have some fun and be creative. (Please wear clothes to do crafts in.)  Great for ages 5-12, but all ages welcome. All programs are free and open to the public with park admission.  An adult must accompany children.  Reasonable accommodations available upon request. June 22 St. John the Evangelist Parish’s youth ministry is sponsoring a High School barbeque at Hopkinton State Park on Wednesday, June 21st, from 12-4PM. This will be an end of the school year celebration with lots of fun and food. We will gather in the church parking lot at 11:30AM. Please register and pick up permission slips at the parish office. June 24 Fourteenth Annual Against The Tide one-mile swim, two-mile kayaking and three-mile fitness walk, benefiting the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition, will be held again at Hopkinton State Park on June 24.  This fun and inspirational program brings together swimmers, kayakers and walkers of all ages and abilities who would like to join MBCC in eradicating the breast cancer epidemic.

June 25  The Hopkinton Running Club is sponsoring the third annual Sharon Timlin Memorial 5k Road Race to cure ALS on Sunday June 25th beginning at 9:00 am (Registration begins at 7:30 am) at the Hopkinton High School.  Join us for a fun-fill friendly morning featuring a 5k race, kids races and events, and a post-race party including a DJ and lots of food.  All proceeds of the race will benefit the Angel Fund, an independent, non-profit charity supporting ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) research at the Massachusetts General Hospital.  Entry Fee is $17 when registered by June 18th and $20 on the day of the race.  For additional information and to register online, please go to http://www.sharontimlinrace.org.

 

June 26 The Hopkinton Boosters and Hopkinton Education Foundation are pleased to team up again for the 13th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, which will be held on Monday, June 26 at the Hopkinton Country Club.  The event will kick off with a 7:00 a.m. shot gun start and all proceeds will benefit with Hopkinton Public Schools. June 30 Hopkinton State Park program "Let's Get Lost" 10:00-11:30 am, Meet at the Main Beach bathhouse. So…you have a map, and you have a compass, but do you know how to use them if you needed to?  Orienteering is often called the “thinking sport” because it involves map reading and decision-making in addition to a great workout!  Come join us and become experts at reading a map and using a compass to find your way!  Held the last Friday of the month all summer, starting June 30th.  Ages 10 and up.
