March 1 2:30 - 3:30 pm at Library Main Reference Room Appropriate for ages 2 - 6 Come join us for an interactive story-time and craft activity. Pre-registration required: (508) 497-9779 This will be a parent-child project, so parents please plan to assist your child.

 

 

March 1  Middle School Early Release Program 11:00am - 2:00 pm @ First Congregational Church.  Fee:  $10.00  -  includes 2 slices of Pizza and a drink.  BUS TRANSPORTATION:    Students must take the bus at 10:45 a.m. from the Middle School to the church, at no additional cost.  Parents must arrange for students to be picked up at the church at 2:00 p.m.  There are no late busses on Early Release Days.

CANCELLED: March 4  Join us for a Caribbean Cook-Off on Saturday, March 4 at 7:30 PM.  Put on your Hawaiian shirt and flip flops and kick back with some great island tunes as we chase those winter blues away!  And if you enjoy cooking (or just trying new recipes), then participate in our Caribbean cook-off!  Not into cooking??  No worries!!  Simply bring an appetizer or dessert to share.  It will be an incredible night as we try some fantastic tropical foods and dance the night away at the Hopkinton Sportsmen's Association at 95 Lumber Street.  The cost is $15 per Newcomers member and $20 per non-member.  So RSVP now and come enjoy the feel of the tropics right here at home!  Contact Christy to RSVP or for more information at 508-686-8520 or christymahoney@comcast.net.

 

March Touchstone Community School will hold an Admissions Open House on Sunday March 5th (weather date: Sunday March 12) from 1-3 pm. March 8  The Hopkinton Newcomers Social Club would  like to invite all of our new members as well as anyone thinking of joining Newcomers, to a morning tea on Wednesday, March 8th.  Join us anytime between 9:30 and 11:30 and enjoy some tea and breakfast in a casual atmosphere. This is a great way to meet others who are new to Hopkinton, learn more about our community, and find out about all the great activities Newcomers has planned!  So, if you are new to town, the Hopkinton Newcomers Social Club, or would simply like to find out more, then please join us! 

If you have young children, bring them along!  There will be space to play and a babysitter on hand.  And, please feel free to bring a friend or neighbor to our Welcome Tea.

March 11  Hopkinton Residents, come in from the cold and join the Hopkinton Newcomers Social Club for a morning of Fun, Games, Refreshments and Entertainment!  Our Winter Wonderland Festival will take place on Saturday, March 11th from 10 – 11:30 AM at the Hayes Lodge at the Hopkinton YMCA.  This event is for children from walking age through Grade One.  There will be a special musical performance by children’s entertainer Gerry St. Louis.  The cost is $5 per child/$15 per family maximum for Newcomers’ members and $7 per child/$20 per family maximum for non-members.  Since space is limited, Newcomers’ members will receive priority.  RSVP soon to Heather at 508-544-1616 or hbbehal@comcast.net.  Please indicate the number and ages of children and number of adults who will attend.  The RSVP deadline is March 8th.

 

March 14  The Hopkinton Women’s Club is hosting a Spring Fashion Show fundraiser with all proceeds donated to Friends of the Hopkinton Seniors in support of the new Senior Center! The Fashion Show will be held at the Hopkinton Country Club, Tuesday, March 14th, 2006 beginning at  7:00 p.m.  The event will feature fashions from Lyn Evans for Potpourri Designs, Westborough and hair and makeup by Richard Francis Salons, Ashland.  Admission price of $25 includes hors d’oeuvres and desserts with a cash bar available.  Seating is limited to 150.  Please call Jane Lockwood, President of the Hopkinton Women's Club for tickets 508.497.9388.

 

March 18 The Darkened Water Cafe Saturday, March 18th, 6:30-9pm. Live, Local Music! Great Coffee, Espresso, Cappuccino, Smoothies, Food and more! Located at: 294 Wood Street (Woodville Baptist Church - they're nice enough to let us use their building), Hopkinton, MA 01748.  Artist of the Evening: Hannah McBride.  Hannah is one of our college friends who actually helped start the Darkened Water Cafe. This Saturday she'll be releasing some of her new music with us.
