The Children's Room will
be accepting registration for story time beginning Tuesday, September 5th.
Registration must be made in person for the first week. Phone registration
will be accepted beginning Wednesday, September 13th with registration
continuing throughout the month. Story time will begin the first week in
October with 8 meetings in each session. Two and three year olds meet Monday
or Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:15 AM. One and two year olds meet on Thursday
from 10:30 to 11:15 AM. Three, four, and five year olds meet on Thursday
from 1:00 to 1:45 PM. Please register for only one story time session per

Potenza September 7 All achievements start as aspirations. It is commitment, perseverance and careful planning that take these aspirations through the distance to accomplishments. Using her children's picture books as a guide, Michele will give participants ideas for pursuing their goals through stress management and positive thinking. By celebrating each step, hill and turn along the way ~ you can enjoy the journey towards the finish line of your goal! Michele Bredice Craemer is the founder of power pack presentations, a company that offers publications and seminars. She has presented seminars on topics relating to motivation, health and fitness for over 15 years. Michele has diverse experience in health and wellness, including corporate fitness center management and corporate account management. She received a degree in Human Development from Boston College and a Masters Degree in Health Science from Springfield College. Her book “Pellie Runs a Marathon” is a children’s picture book about a duck that runs a marathon and learns lessons along the way that both children and adults can appreciate. The adventures of “Pellie” are based on Michele’s true experiences of training for and running marathons. Her new children's picture book "CoCo Loves to Tri" is about a black lab who demonstrates determination and a willingness to try during a triathlon. Michele’s previous speaking engagements include presenting for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and hosting a Stress Management Presentation on Winthrop Community Access Television. She has also appeared on BNN—Channel 7, Talk Radio WUNR, WDRC, Radio 2490 WCCM and UPN 38 TV. September 8 Just like Drew Carey~ Enter Stage Left is having some crazy fun where the games are made up and the points don't matter! You might play improv games, sing a hoe down song or dance a jig like a Rhino in a tutu. If you don't want to get up there just come by and watch your friends and neighbors play!! September 10 St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 61 Wood Street (Rte. 135) will be kicking off its fall schedule with “Welcome Back Sunday,” September 10. Breakfast will be served at 8:45 a.m., and Church School registration will begin at 9:15. Church School classes will be offered for children ages three and up, and a Nursery will be provided for infants and toddlers. Worship will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the children joining their parents in the church at 10:30 for communion. September 11 On September 11, at 10 AM, a service of prayer and remembrance will be held on the Hopkinton Common. The service is nondenominational, and will be led by local clergy. At 10:05, the bell in the library will ring to remind us of the collapse of the South Tower of the World Trade Center. At 10:28 the bell will ring again as we remember the collapse of the North Tower. Please come to remember the fallen heroes of 9/11, to comfort those who mourn them, and to be comforted. September 17 St. John the Evangelist Church will be hosting an appreciation day for its former shepherd of 26 years, Father James Degnan, who retired earlier this season. Fr. September 24 St. John’s Church in Hopkinton is collecting bicycles to send to the poor in developing countries, in conjunction with the Bikes-Not-Bombs (BNB) program in Roxbury. Bikes can be remarkably effective in developing countries, improving men’s and women’s ability to haul farm produce or other goods to market and increasing access to health care, jobs and schools. Bike repair shops stimulate local economies as well. BNB has sent over 22,000 bikes to Central America, the Caribbean and Africa in the last 20 years. Please check your basements and garages for any bikes you no longer use, and bring them to St. John’s. The bike collection will be Sunday, September 24 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. However, bikes may also be dropped off at St. John’s Monday through Saturday, September 18-23. September 27 Wondering what the best preschool for your child is? On Wednesday, September 27 at 7:30 pm, the MOMS Club of Hopkinton will offer a workshop of preschool options and how to evaluate them. Roxy Leeson, an expert in child development with over 20 years of experience, will cover topics like what to think about before looking at preschools and what questions to ask when you call and visit, descriptions of the various types of preschools, and what to consider if your child’s birth date is near the kindergarten cut-off. September 27 Wednesday, 27th is the first double program night at Studio Session Live, Produced by Producer Bob Crownfield for HCAM-TV. HCAM-TV will record both programs for broadcast in October. Both shows will take place in the HCAM-TV studios at 77 Main Street in Hopkinton. Come join us for two great concerts. The tickets are free, but are required, and seating is limited to 40 guests. September 30 The 32nd Polyarts Festival will be held Saturday, September 30th, 10 am-4 pm, rain or shine, on the Hopkinton Town Common (Exit 21A off Rt. 495). Admission is free. This annual juried show and sales features over 75 artists and crafters from the community and across New England. There will also be performing artists throughout the day, a food court and an active children's area. September 30 Held on the kennel grounds at 167 Saddle Hill Road, Hopkinton September 30 & October 1, owners of greyhounds young and old are encouraged to come down to this event with their beloved canines to have them spoiled on location. From 12pm-5pm, activities have been planned for both days including pet pampering events such as Dog Massage, Pet Photography and the Not Quite Westminster Dog Show. Four tracks will soon be closing for the season, making this a busy time for Greyhound Friends in finding placements for retired dogs. This is the perfect chance for potential dog owners thinking about greyhound adoption to come visit dogs in of need loving homes. September 30 The date of the next Lions Club recycling drive at Colella’s Supermarket on Main St. Cans and bottles can be dropped of between 9 am and 2 pm. This procedure is repeated on the last Saturday of each month throughout the year. The Hopkinton Lions Club is a non-profit service organization. All monies earned are dispensed to those in need.
