March 24,25 Enter Stage Left Theater Workshop, Inc. is pleased to present two “Dessert Theater” performances of Here We Sit, a comedy featuring local middle and high school students.  The Dessert Theater, which includes a brownie sundae and a beverage, will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 24 and at 2:00 p.m. on March 25.  Both performances will take place at Hopkins School (104 Hayden Rowe, Hopkinton) and tickets are $12 per person. “This is a unique event for ESL in that we are going to have the actors interacting with the audience in a dinner/dessert theater setting,” said Kelly Grill, a co-founder of ESL. “As a result attendees get to enjoy a hilarious show, a yummy treat, and a chance to have their teenage friends wait on them.  It doesn’t get any better than that!” Here We Sit is a comedy that puts the audience on the hot seat through a series of sixteen quick-paced scenes, all illuminating the joys and tribulations of the modern theatre-going experience.  For instance, in An Audience of One, a single theater patron delivers an impassioned monologue to convince the actors to perform the show just for her.  What the Crowd is Thinking allows us to hear the real thoughts of an audience sitting through an uninspired performance, and Uber Ushers is about a band of ushers driven to the brink of madness by the boorish behavior of the audience.

This year’s Silent Auction team has solicited a dazzling array of fabulous items up for bid. The Committee, chaired by Shari Murphy and supported by a group of dedicated volunteers, has been very busy ensuring that the Auction will be another rewarding experience for patrons.  Items include:  weekend getaways to Vermont, New Hampshire, and the Cape; tickets to sports games; dinner prepared by a personal chef; golf outings, ski tickets; sports memorabilia; i-pods; electronics; jewelry; wine; and much more.  The annual favorite Children’s Gallery raffle baskets are back again featuring a wide array of themes – science; backyard fun; arts and crafts; beach; reading; game night; and many more.  Other raffles include a quilt signed by the entire first grade; a t-shirt quilt made from official Marathon t-shirts donated by the HAA; Police Chief, Fire Chief, or Principal for a day; and the Ice Cream Stroll with your favorite kindergarten teacher.

The presentation will provide parents of children aged three to twelve, valuable information on how to easily talk to their children about sex.

March 29 The MOMS Club hosts a workshop on Setting Limits 7:30 pm @ Golden Pond. For planning purposes, we greatly appreciate advance registration.  The cost for the workshop is $15.  Please send your check for $15 payable to the MOMS Club of Hopkinton to Christine Coffman, 21 North St, Hopkinton MA 01748 by March 26.  RSVPs after March 26 will be accepted. The workshop will be held at the Golden Pond Assisted Living Center at 50 West Main Street in Hopkinton (phone: 508-435-1250).  The workshop will begin promptly at 7:30pm, so we ask that you arrive early to get settled.  Light refreshments will be served, courtesy of Golden Pond.
