December 5 CAA hosts “5 Sculptors” opening reception, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. On display through Dec. 4 to Jan. 5, weekdays 2 to 5 p.m.; call ahead for weekend hours. At the Cultural Arts Alliance, 98 Hayden Rowe St. (Rt. 85), Hopkinton, MA; 508-435-9222; www.caahopkinton.org. The variety in the artwork mirrors the diversity among the sculptors. There are three Hopkinton residents in the show: retired WPI engineering professor, William Moser; Cecilia DelGaudio, a sculptor and carving teacher; and Michael Alfano, a sculptor known in the town for his monument of legendary Boston Marathon starter, George V. Brown. Joel Tro, from Shrewsbury, was a design director and textile specialist until he turned his talents to creating found object compositions. Westboro resident Jeff Butler is a self-taught wood carver specializing in birds. What these five share is immense talent for creating three-dimensional works of art.
