February 2 Historical Look at Hopkinton & HPTA Volunteer Fair 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm @ Ciao Time Restaurant (28 Main Street). Through old photographs and some historical digging, Hopkinton residents Chuck Joseph and Kathleen Culler have created an amazing pictorial history and presentation of the real Hopkinton. February 6 Hopkinton Community Drum Circle 8:30 am - 9:30 am @ Grace United Methodist Church. The Hopkinton Community Drum Circle is open to everyone. Children under 16 must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult. Please bring your own drum (or other percussion instrument). This drum circle will be facilitated by Barbara Paquette who has a degree in music and has been playing percussion for over 40 years. Barbara will guide the group through various rhythms. There’s no need to register in advance; just drop in. A $5.00 donation is suggested (adults only). Grace UMC is wheelchair accessible.

February 7 Super Sub Sunday. Pre-ordered submarine sandwiches can be picked up at Grace United Methodist Church between 10:30 am and 2:00 pm. There will be extra sandwiches available on a first-come, first-served basis for those who didn't pre-order.

February 13 Booking It (Book Club) 8:30 am - 9:30 am @ Grace United Methodist Church. Roundtable discussion of book selection. This month we are discussing Walking in Two Worlds: Mixed-Blood Indian Women Seeking Their Path by Nancy Peterson. All are welcome to participate.

February 15-17 Teddy Bear Picnic from 10:30am to 12:30pm for kids through age 7. First Congregational Church, 146 E. Main St., Hopkinton.  Tickets are $1 and can be purchased Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:30pm. Bring a grown-up, teddy bear, picnic lunch, and picnic blanket.  Get more info here

February 15-19 Come to the YMCA for a week fun, games, adventures and so much more! Activities will include, sports, arts and crafts, swimming, team challenges, sledding a field trip and more! Make this a week your kids won’t forget! The last day to register for this program is Wednesday February 10th. Participants can register for individual days or for the entire week: Rates are as follows:

Day Rate: $50 per day for MetroWest YMCA Members, $65.00 per day for non-members
Week Rate (5 days): $220 for MetroWest YMCA Members, $295.00 for non-members
AM Care: 7:00am - 8:30am, $8.00 a day

February 1 – February 18 Collection of Health Kits for Haiti.

KIT CONTENTS. Place these items inside a sealed one-gallon plastic bag:

• 1 hand towel (15” x 25” up to 17” x 27”, no kitchen towels)
• 1 washcloth
• 1 comb (large and sturdy – not pocket-sized)
• 1 nail file or fingernail clippers (no emery boards or toenail clippers)
• 1 bath size bar of soap (3 oz. and up)
• 1 toothbrush (single brushes only in original wrapper, no child-size brushes)
• 6 adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages

• All items in kits must be NEW.
• It is important that kits contain only the requested items – nothing more.

Drop off completed kits, or individual items needed to assemble a kit to:

February 23 Hopkinton Public Library Presents "The Art of Songwriting", an evening of music and discussion. This musical event will start @ 6:30, on 13 Main Street. Hopkinton residents Dan Cloutier, Barbara Kessler & Sasha Yatchenko, will be joined by Kim Jennings and Tom Smith to share songs and the writing process. If you love music this evening is for you.
