September 9-12:  6th Annual Hopkinton Tennis Tournament Open to Hopkinton residents 18 yrs. and older of all levels of play, the 6th Annual Hopkinton Tennis Tournament will take place on September 9-12 at Hopkinton High School tennis courts. Match play in beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. $15/person per event entered. Again this year, mixed doubles are open to one resident and one out-of-town guest. September 11: The Doug Carroll Baseball Academy is excited to offer a Fall baseball program through the Hopkinton Parks and Recreation Department.  The program will run from Saturday, September 11th through Saturday, October 16th from 12:00 - 6:00.  Times may vary depending on the number of participants.  The program will consist of 2 practices per week and one game per week.  Practices will be held at EMC Park and the Doug Carroll Baseball Academy in Framingham.  Games will be at EMC Park. September 12: The Woodville Rod and Gun Club is having its 83rd Annual Chicken Barbecue on Sunday, September 12 at 1.00 pm. Adults: $10.00, Seniors: $7.00  and Kids under 12: $5.00. September 15:The Citizen's Police Academy is a ten week classroom information sharing program that meets one night a week beginning Wednesday September 15, 2010 running from 6:00 PM to approximately 9:00 PM with the class graduation being held on Wednesday November 17, 2010. The classes are conducted in the Media Room of the Ashland Public Library located at 66 Front Street Ashland, unless otherwise specified. The program provides classroom instruction, demonstrations, and lectures on various police related matters conducted by Officers of the Department and various other Police Agencies: Federal, State and Local. It offers participants an opportunity to get involved and to participate in a police ride along with an on duty Ashland Police Officer.

September 17: Friday Night on the Town” on Friday, September 17th from 6:30pm- 9:30pm. Parents can enjoy dinner out while their children in grades 1-6 can join Ms. von Rosenvinge and the HHS drama ensemble in the HHS auditorium as they enjoy a family movie classic. Parents will receive discounts at local restaurants such as, Ken’s Steak House, Bill’s Pizza, The Golden Spoon, Ciao Time and Tavolino. September 18:The annual Hopkinton Polyarts event is coming to the town common on Saturday, September 18th. Once again, the Lions Club will be setting up their Food Court for this fun town event. Hamburgers, dogs, chips and cold drinks will be served all day. The Lions Club hopes you will stop by and say hello!

Drama Dollar Days: Visit the HHS Drama “Talent Table” at Polyarts on Saturday, Sept. 18th and, for $1 per performance, experience the unique abilities of these talented students! Also, be on the lookout for HHS Drama Ensemble members in your neighborhood on Sept. 18 & 19 looking for one dollar donations for their Scotland trip.

September 23: Destination ImagiNation is a project-based activity like no other. Over the course of this season, your child’s team will work to solve one of our Team Challenges and practice and solve any number of instant Challenges. By solving Challenges, they will also gain experience in creative problem solving—a powerful process based on more than 50 years of research that can transform the way that children approach problems for the rest of their lives. September 25  St. Paul’s 275th Anniversary Celebration and Fair

HOPKINTON, MASS (September 2, 2010) -- St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Hopkinton will be marking its 275th Anniversary with a special celebration and fair on Saturday, September 25. The festivities will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will include children’s games, a bake sale and white elephant table, raffles, sales of memorabilia, a barbecue, and a historical presentation on the history of St. Paul’s Church and the Hopkinton Community, given by Chuck Joseph. The activities will conclude with a historic evening prayer service at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is located at 61 Wood Street (Rte. 135) in Hopkinton.

Tickets for the barbecue are $5 per person or $15 per family – other activities are free. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to Project Just Because. "St. Paul’s has been a been supporter of Project Just Because Help for many years, and we feel this Fair is just one more way we can help this wonderful organization," said Pam Litchfield, organizer of the Fair. "We are asking attendees to keep local families warm this winter by donating a warm blanket, hat, gloves or mittens. In return they will receive a free raffle ticket ."
