About halfway down this page is a quote from Sen. Tom Harkin, a Senate Democrat who supports Sen. Barack Obama, saying that Sen. John McCain’s military career makes him “dangerous”. Well, yesterday the denigration of Sen. McCain’s military career continued when Sen. Obama’s most senior military advisor, Gen. Wesley Clark, a man I previously praised on this very page (20 May 2008), had this to say about Sen. John McCain’s military career, “Well, I don't think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be president." Maybe a combat Navy, Air Force, Army, Marine, or National Guard combat pilot can let us know if they are just “riding” in their aircraft or if they’re called “pilots” for a reason. And, do you think "getting" is the General's code word for implying Sen. McCain wasn't a very good "rider"? Gen. Clark made more dismissive comments about Sen. McCain’s military career but no need to repeat them all here; I think everyone understands the General’s role in Sen. Obama’s smear campaign, a campaign I correctly predicted back on May 20.
