October 1. Dinner Theater in Hopkinton 7:00 pm First Congregational Church

         Stella Devine is the aging star of the popular Ritz Theatre. As she prepares for a role in a new play written just for her, Ginger, an up and coming southern belle actress plots to steal her role. Acts Two Players presents “Divine Stella Devine,” on Friday, Sept 30 and Saturday, October 1 at 7:00 pm, First Congregational Church, 146 E. Main St., Hopkinton.

 Come, enjoy a fun evening of drama and have a great meal, all for only $15.00 per adult. Tickets available at the door but best seating available by purchasing in advance.  Choose from a fried chicken or ham dinner. Enjoy this fun, delightful comedy that's different than anything you've ever seen before!  Ticket sales begin Monday, Sept. 19. Come to the church office M – F, 9 am – 5 pm. October 3. Story Hours will begin the week of October 3rd  in the Library's Children's Room. Registration must be made in person during the first week with phone registrations accepted beginning  September 14th.

Two and three year olds meet on Monday or Wednesday mornings from 10:30 to 11:15 AM with adult companions reading the stories. Ms. Dinny provides appropriate books and craft materials. Three and four year olds meet on Thursday from 1:00 to 1:45 PM with adult companions staying with their children. Four and five year olds meet on Friday from 1:00 to 1:45 PM. Adult companions may leave the room but are asked to remain in the library and return to the Children's Room at 1:30 to help their child with the craft activity. Ms. Dinny reads at these Story Hours. Please call the Children's Room at 497-9779 or the main desk at 497-9777 with questions. We will be in and out of the Children's Room during the renovation from August 22 to September 6th.

 

October 15th, 8pm at the Woodville Rod and Gun.  It is called ESL LIVE!  and follows a similar format to Saturday Night Live.  There will be comedy skits, musical performances and a news cast poking fun at local politics.  This is an adult evening.  There will be cheese and crackers, light snacks and a cash bar.  After the show the dance floor will be open until midnight!  Tickets are $15 and can be reserved by emailing esltheather@comcast.net or calling 508 331-0454. 

 

October 15th

The Hopkinton Newcomers Social Club will be holding its Annual Family Fall Festival on Saturday, October 15th at the EMC Playground from 2:00 - 3:30 PM.  This is a free event for both members and non-members.  Donations are welcome.  The children will enjoy crafts, trick-or-treating, refreshments, a costume parade and a special performance by children's entertainer, "Mike the Music Man".  Arrive on time so you won't miss a moment of the fun.  This event will not be held if it is raining.  Please RSVP to Kelly Ianelli at 508-497-9557 or dkianelli@verizon.net.

 

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will be hosting a potluck dinner in the Parish Hall on Saturday, October 15 at 6:00 p.m.  All are welcome to this event, which in addition to offering food and fellowship will also give attendees the opportunity to meet St. Paul’s new rector, Father Michael Billingsly.   There is no charge for the dinner, although attendees are asked to bring a dish to share.  (Meals should serve six people and be in disposable containers.)

 

 

October 17

Hopkinton Historical House Tour from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm.  Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the tour.  Tickets are available in Hopkinton at Action Copy Plus, 34 Main Street, Main Street Specialties, 15 Main Street, online at www.caahopkinton.org, or call 508-435-9222.

 

October 17 Fall into Fashion event is taking place at the Hopkinton Country Club 7-10 pm.  This premier social event will include a fashion show featuring the Etcetera Collection Clothing Line, upscale product displays and demonstrations, door prizes and more!  This exciting event is sure to be a sell out (only 150 tickets will be available).  In addition, a portion of the proceeds will go to Project Just Because, a wonderful non-profit charity organization located in Hopkinton.

October 20 Garden Club Holiday Fundraiser

It is not too early to mark the date for the club’s annual Holiday Open Meeting fundraiser on Thursday, October 20, 2005, 6 to 9:30 p.m. at Hopkinton High School, 90 Hayden Rowe (Route 85).

     Floral designer, Tony Tedesco, will create lavish holiday arrangements with his colorful style and creative use of plant material making this a must see presentation   Mr. Tedesco owns One Main Street Studio in Stow, and has designed =sets and staging for many flower shows and events over his 30 years in the floral design industry. 

     Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased at the door or in advance from club members. Ticket purchase includes refreshments and a chance to win a garden bench door prize donated by Weston Nurseries of Hopkinton. Raffle tables with items donated by area vendors and club members as well as a “Petite Boutique” highlighting the artistic creations of local women retailers will be part of the evening to begin your holiday shopping. Early Release Day After School Activities for 6th, 7th and 8th graders.  From 11 am - 2 pm at the First Congregational Church.  The Fee to get in is $10.00 and it includes two slices of pizza and a drink.

The CAA's Haunted house will really scare your socks off! Come take a walk through our creepy house-IF YOU DARE. On Friday October 28 and Saturday October 29 from 6pm - 9 pm the old farmhouse at 98 Hayden Rowe will be crawling with ghosts, ghouls and a few zombies.

 

A non-scary Trick or Treat through the house will be on Saturday October 29 from 2:30 - 4:00pm. This is the perfect opportunity to have you little ones dress up in their costumes and have some Halloween fun.

Holiday Craft Fair 10:00 am - 3:00 pm at Brampton Circle, 100 Davis Road.  Handmade crafts, white elephant table, bake sale.  Refreshments available--coffee and doughnuts, hot dogs, chips and soda
There will also be face painting for the kids!

October 29- 1:00 pm at the Hopkinton High School.  David Polansky is a local family entertainer who is a favorite of children and grandparents. His shows are filled with singing, dancing and humor. Polansky is well known for his award winning animal songs. This is one event you can bring the entire family to.  Tickets are $6.00 per person with a $24.00 per family max. Combination tickets to the show and the Haunted House are also available for $10 a person or $40.00 per family max.
