DAVID F. EDSON

March 15, 2004, Hopkinton,
Massachusetts – David F. Edson has announced his candidacy for the upcoming
open position on the Hopkinton Board of Health. Edson is an 11-year resident of
Hopkinton and currently serves on the town’s Police Station Building Committee.
Edson served on the Conservation Commission, including as chair, in the mid
1990’s; on the Terry Property and the Wetlands Protection Bylaw Advisory Ad-Hoc
Committees; and on the High School Building Committee.
Edson is a registered,
professional civil engineer in Massachusetts and owns an engineering consulting
firm, Prism Environmental, Inc, based in Westborough. He is an expert in the
fields of groundwater and public drinking water, and Prism’s clients are mostly
public water utilities including towns, cities, districts and investor-owned
utilities.
Edson is running for the Board
of Health to fill an open position. He believes that his technical and
regulatory knowledge of groundwater and drinking water issues could be useful
given the range of issues facing the Board. Since the Hopkinton Department of
Public Works is a current client of Prism, Edson would recuse himself from
decisions on DPW filings.
Edson’s candidacy was announced
at a recent meeting of the Hopkinton Republican Town Committee and his name will
appear on the ballot at the Republican Caucus on April 8 from 3 to 7 pm at the
Fire Station.
