They will be arraigned in Woburn Superior Court on July 12.

“These arrests of these nine defendants, including a former Burlington Police Officer, resulted in a large amount of cocaine and heroin being seized and taken off the streets," District Attorney Leone said. "Illegal drug use and drug trafficking take advantage of vulnerable people and communities, and are serious offenses that are often at the root of many additional and violent crimes.  These indictments reflect our commitment to aggressively prosecute large scale drug traffickers and to hold them accountable for their crimes.”

According to authorities, in December of 2009 and January and February of 2010, members of the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office applied for, and were granted, a series of wiretap warrants allowing them to intercept the communications occurring between the defendants.  It is alleged that these telephone conversations were being used to facilitate heroin and cocaine trafficking.

Based on information gained through these intercepted conversations, authorities applied for, and were granted, a series of search warrants in February to which authorized the search of seven residences and the seizure of ten motor vehicles.

Upon execution of the search warrants, nearly 200 grams of cocaine and nearly 28 grams of heroin were seized.  Three firearms, including a .38 caliber revolver, a .45 caliber Glock semi-automatic pistol, and a large capacity 9 mm semi-automatic pistol, a stun gun, large amounts of cash, cars and a Harley Davidson motorcycle were also seized by authorities, along with a large assortment of digital scales and other drug packaging materials.

It is alleged that Michael Reynolds was the leader of the organization, with Kelvis DeJesus as his primary heroin supplier, and William Najjar as his primary cocaine supplier.

Michael Reynolds and Kenneth Reynolds were arrested on February 10 and were arraigned in Woburn District Court, where they were ordered held on $10,000 cash bail.

Kelvis DeJesus was arrested on March 11 in Wakefield after he was observed in the process of making a heroin delivery.  He was arraigned in Malden District Court on March 12 on charges of Trafficking in Heroin over 28 grams and committing drug violation in a School Zone.  Malden District Court Judge Paratore ordered DeJesus held on $50,000 cash bail.

These charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The prosecutors assigned to this case are Assistant District Attorney David Solet and John Verner, Chief of the MDAO’s PACT Unit. This case was investigated by State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney's PACT Unit and the Woburn Police Department.
