Authorities Investigating Fatal Shooting In Lowell

 

            LOWELL– State Police and Lowell Police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place early this morning, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone and Lowell Police Superintendent Kenneth Lavallee informed the public today.

            At approximately 2:34 a.m., police responded to 28 Chapel Street for reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, police discovered a male victim evidencing obvious gun shot wounds. The victim, who has been identified as Juan Ferrer, 19, of Lawrence, was transported to Lowell General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Lowell Police and State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office are conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the death.  The incident does not appear to be random.  No one has been charged in connection with the incident at this time.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (ME).
